Baldwin Betty

Betty Baldwin (1889-1991)

Born in England in 1889.  her interest in art came at an early age drawing and painting ever since she was 6 years old. At 10 years old she had her first professional experience selling cartoon drawing to a local journal.

Baldwin lived in Paris, New York and in Portland Maine traveling frequently to Ogunquit where She spent time painting. In 1924 she marries violinist Percy Baldwin and settles in Quebec City where she lived until her death in 1981. Baldwin loved the old part of Quebec City that she painted with great details with a colorful and vibrant palette.

Here work is hard to find on the Quebec market perhaps because during her high production period her paintings were given away.
