Bittar Antoine
Antoine Bittar (1957 -)
Born in Cairo, Egypt, at the age of five he came to Montreal with his family. A self-taught artist he has been influenced by French and Canadian Impressionists. He depicts people in landscapes, city scenes, vacation settings, in all seasons of the year, and achieves successfully, mood and lively colour in his work. Since 1981 he has painted full-time. He has also travelled and painted in Jamaica, Mexico, Costa Rica, Italy, France, Switzerland and Portugal. Bittar participated to many group and solo shows including: Gallery Michel Bigué, Mtl. Gallery L. Bazinet, Mtl. Kastel Gallery, Mtl. Gallery Vincent, Ottawa. Kaspar Gallery, Toronto. He is represented in many public and private collections across Canada.
