Claude Le Sauteur is a Quebec painter who was born in 1926 in Rivière-Pentecôte.
He studied at the École des beaux-arts de Québec from 1945 to 1950 under the tutelage of Jean Paul Lemieux, Jean Dallaire and Omer Parent.1.
His painting is in the continuity of his masters, Jean Paul Lemieux and Jean Dallaire, and it has a universal character. The painter Claude Le Sauteur is one of Quebec's outstanding artists. Rooted in the Charlevoix region, he has become an imposing figure in this region dedicated to art and heritage. Le Sauteur paints the reconciliation of man and nature. His works reflect a plastic modernity built with great rigor and reveal a great sensitivity and a constant pictorial concern. Throughout his career he received many honours and awards and his work can be found in museums and numerous public and corporate collections.
