Mosonyi Eva
Eva N. Mosonyi (1935 -)
Born in 1935 in Budapest, Hungary. She studied fine arts at the Academia of Budapest. In 1956, her studies were interrupted by the revolution. Obliged to flee from her native land, she took refuge in Canada where she enrolled the same year at the Ecole des Beaux-arts in Montréal. In 1962 she became a member of the Association of Independent Artists and in 1964 she held her first one-woman show at The Royal Gallery, Montreal. Eva Mosonyi applies her paint thickly to the canvas with palette knife and never retouches her work. The result is a colourful and lively painting. Throughout her career she participated to numerous exhibitions including: Place Ville-Marie, Montréal; Julianne Gallery, Scarborough; Galerie Nova, Montreal; Galerie Saint-Paul, Montréal; Gallery Mora Fine Arts, Ontario; Galerie Symbole Art, Montreal.
