Armand Tatossian is an internationally recognized artist born in Egypt in 1948. He immigrated to Montreal with his family in 1960. Tatossian pursued an international arts education in Egypt, Italy, Canada, and France, and has exhibited in North America, Europe and Asia. He preferred painting en plein air to achieve a more expressive technique. His works are vigorous and intense with a generous application of oil paint to canvas. He had a keen desire to express himself through his work. His main inspiration came from the Canadian landscape but he also enjoyed the technicality of a still life.
At only 25 years old, Tatossian was the youngest member accepted into the Royal Canadian Academy.
He has exhibited in North America, Europe and Asia and his works can currently be found in the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the National Gallery of Canada, and numerous public and private collections.
