Louis Tremblay (1949-)
Louis Tremblay was born in Baie-St-Paul, Quebec in 1949. His interest in art came at an early age through the acquaintance of René Richard, master Quebec painter and friend of his father that encourage him to pursue an artistic career. He studied at the Université du Québec in Chicoutimi from 1980 to 1985 before studying art history at Université Laval from 1985 to 1986 and in 1991.
Tremblay paints mainly landscapes and rural scenes of the Charlevoix region with a semi-abstract style. He is a member of the Institute of Figurative Arts, His works can be found in various public and private collections in Quebec City, Alcan, Pratt and Whitney, the Consulate of France in Quebec City, Power Corporation, Desjardins, I.B.M., Bank of Nova Scotia and Inter Gaz in Toronto. He is represented in several galleries throughout Canada.
